Exhibitor rules
What you can show at a cannabis trade show
Cannabis booths sell without the product. These are the 2025 to 2027 rules from MJBizCon and NECANN venues.
- The use, distribution or sale of any products containing THC is strictly prohibited in the exhibit hall, conference sessions or any other function space; exhibitors are the only ones allowed to bring brochures and non-THC samples, and solicitation is limited to exhibitors within their booth space. MJBizCon FAQ, 2026
- Absolutely no cannabis of any kind can be sold, distributed or displayed at the Hynes Convention Center; attendance is 21+, unless accompanied by a parent or guardian. NECANN Boston 2027 event page, 2027
- At the Atlantic City Convention Center no cannabis of any kind can be sold or distributed, and there is no displaying, smoking, vaping or consuming cannabis anywhere on the property. NECANN 2025 New Jersey Cannabis Convention show guide, 2025
- Food samples at the Atlantic City Convention Center are limited to 2 oz. portions and non-alcoholic beverages to 4 oz. cups, with written approval from OVG Hospitality at least 30 working days before the show; electric grills or anything creating grease-laden vapors are not approved. Planning
Planning a cannabis show booth
- 01
Design without product
With THC banned on the floor, use packaging, photography, screens and non-THC samples to show the brand.
- 02
Check each state and venue
Rules differ by venue, from no THC in the hall to no cannabis displayed anywhere on the property.
- 03
Plan for 21+ audiences
Most of these shows admit adults only, which shapes giveaways and messaging.
- 04
Brief a builder who knows the hall
MJBizCon fills the Las Vegas Convention Center, so builders who work that hall know its labor and freight rules.
